Upcycling with purpose
As part of the national Centravo Group, CollaSwiss products have a backward vertically integrated and fully traceable supply chain. With a dedicated production line located close to the Swiss capital Bern, innovative manufacturing technology is used to hydrolyse collagen directly from mostly locally sourced animal sources.
Sustainably powered logistics
Our collagen peptide production machinery is fueled by electricity and steam, with the steam being internally generated by one of our sister production facilities.
In 2024, around half of the fuel used for this steam generation came from renewable sources. Thanks to this growing share of renewable energy, we are able to cover a significant portion of the Centravo Group’s electricity needs ourselves, supported by our photovoltaic systems operating across several sites.

As a byproduct of animal processing, we also produce our own biodiesel, which powers the majority of our modern Euro 6 truck fleet. Each year, our logistics operations cover several million kilometers, largely running on biofuels supplied through the company’s own filling station. Our logistics partners can also benefit from this renewable fuel. Centravo Logistics continues to meet the requirements for CO₂ certification from the Energy Agency of the Swiss Private Sector (EnAW).
These and many other measures help us achieve our CO₂ reduction targets within the Centravo Group, which has voluntarily committed to reducing its greenhouse gas emissions and progressively decarbonizing its operations.

Swiss Materials
CollaSwiss parent group Centravo is the central collection and marketing organization for all valuable raw materials of animal origin in Switzerland. The pig skin used for our collagen peptides comes from our associated slaughterhouses and is collected according to controlled specifications. It is transported by Centravo’s own trucks directly to the Lyss facilities.
Depending on the product line, the collagen is either
a) produced directly from Swiss pig skin, or
b) derived from gelatine supplied by our strategic EU partner – who, in turn, also uses Swiss pig skin as a raw material for its gelatine production.
This ensures that the raw material origin remains consistent and traceable throughout the entire value chain. What makes these products special is their “Swiss-ness” – shaped by Switzerland’s unique animal husbandry practices and the country’s exceptionally high animal welfare standards.
